Snicker Doodles
I like to make these with my MaMa on the Weekend... She lets me cook!
Mix together thoroughly
1 cup soft Shortening
1 and 2/4 cups White Sugar
2 Eggs
Sift together and Stir in
2 and 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons sifted Flour
2 teaspoons Cream of Tarter
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
Roll dough with hands into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll each ball of dough in this mixture in a saucer
2 teaspoons Cinnamon
1 tablespoon White Sugar
Place balls of dough two inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until lightly brown on top, but still soft.
Temperature of pre-heated oven 400 degrees
Time of cooking about 8 to 10 minutes
Taste best while warm
Poppy's Wednesday Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup or 2 sticks Butter or Margarine, room temperature
1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 3/4 cups white flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups "quick oats uncooked or 3 cups old fashion oats uncooked"
One 12 ounce package or 2 cups generous of semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 cup chopped nuts OPTIONAL and not necessary!
Heat oven to 375 degrees F
Beat together margarine and sugars until creamy (use a mixer of some sort)
Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well
Add combined flour, baking soda, and salt; mix well
Stir in oats, chocolate pieces and nuts; mix well
Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls
Onto ungreased cookie sheets
Bake 9 to 10 Minutes for chewy cookies
Bake for 12 to 13 Minutes for crisp cookies
Watch closely as to not to burn them
....though the kids eat them anyway
Cool for a few minutes on the cookie sheet
Cool the remainder of the way on paper towels
Store any Cookies left in a Cookie jar when completely cool
Makes about 3 dozen when generous with dough.
I eat them all the time....
BUT I do not eat burnt ones!....Addy
Please keep your Children safe ... Keep "Bungee Cords" out of reach of all Children: the ones Adults use to secure tarps and other items ... Poppy saved Addy's life one Spring day when he was alerted by Addy's Sister and Brother that she was not breathing ... her Mother was in the house having just fixed Addy's hair and was now trimming her big Brother's hair ... Addy is fine now and does not put anything around her neck ... Always check the play area for dangers - Addy's MaMa
